Traditional Homes of Georgia LLC was contracted to restore and modernize a 1920 Plantation-style home that had been neglected for more than a generation. This full-scale renovation required significant structural, functional, and design upgrades to bring the property back to life while preserving its timeless character.
The renovation began with leveling the main-level slabs, correcting a 4-inch difference from one end of the home to the other. We then gutted the entire main level, replacing most of the interior walls to reconfigure and modernize the layout. As part of the redesign, we relocated underground plumbing, added new bathrooms including a luxurious master bath, and created a new laundry room on the main level for improved convenience.
The staircase to the second floor was relocated to optimize flow and function, while the kitchen received a complete transformation with custom cabinetry, elegant countertops, updated lighting, and new plumbing fixtures. Throughout the home, we installed new flooring, applied fresh interior paint, and enhanced the overall design with careful attention to both craftsmanship and historic integrity.
This renovation turned a long-neglected property into a revitalized family home, blending the charm of its 1920 origins with modern comfort and efficiency.
